Attorney Profile

I have been a licensed attorney in Maryland for 35 years.  I originally concentrated on Family Law, specifically divorce and child custody.  While I do accept a limited number of family law matters, I now concentrate in the area of foreclosure litigation.  This includes foreclosure defense and suits against lenders. I practice at the trial and appellate level.

I received my law degree from Howard University in 1982, graduating magna cum laude, and ranked first in my class.  In 1969 I received my undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University in accounting.  I was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1982, and the Florida Bar in 2009.  I am also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the United States District Court for Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal and Fourth Circuit. I hold the highest national Martindale- Hubble lawyer rating of AV*.

I am a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Awards in Family Law, Federal Jurisprudence, Conflicts, Corporations, and Agency.

When necessary, I think outside of the box.  I often collaborate on cases with Sari Kurland, Esquire of the Kurland Law Group in Rockville, MD.  Many times Sari and I will team up in approaching a case.  The issue is not finding a cookie cutter approach to a case.  The issue is what we can do as attorneys to achieve the best result for our clients.
